TBF Quarterly Update: Private Equity, Debt & the 2026 Market

Equipment finance businesses, transactions, partnerships and credit platforms backed by private equity are gaining momentum in the industry.

This is creating opportunities and challenges for traditional players, so it’s no wonder it’s a hot topic in the industry right now. Find out more about our insight into this trend and what we’re looking froward to in 2026 in our latest quarterly newsletter.

Entering 2026 with momentum and gratitude

We were proud to be a sponsor for another great ELFA Conventionin 2025. Pictured are TBF CEO Brett Boehm (on left) with CFO Adam Boehm.

As we begin 2026, we want to thank our clients, partners and friends for the trust and collaboration that defined the past year. In a dynamic commercial finance environment, your confidence in TBF Financial continues to drive our work across commercial debt acquisition, portfolio strategy and long-term value creation.

This past year marked meaningful progress for our firm and our partners. We launched MarkTrue, our proprietary pricing algorithm designed to deliver even greater accuracy, transparency, and speed in portfolio valuation.

We were also proud to give back to the equipment finance community by volunteering at the annual ELFA Convention, supporting an industry that continues to innovate and grow through shared expertise and collaboration.

Looking ahead, we’re optimistic about the opportunities 2026 will bring. With increased activity across commercial lending we believe the year ahead presents strong potential for disciplined growth. We’re excited to build on this momentum and grateful to move forward together into another year of partnership and progress.

The growing impact of private equity on U.S. equipment finance is undeniable.

Equipment finance businesses, transactions, partnerships and credit platforms backed by private equity are gaining momentum in the industry. This is creating opportunities and challenges for traditional players. Private equity portfolio companies outside the industry also are having an impact, providing new channels for customer financing.

It’s no wonder that private equity is a hot topic in equipment finance right now.

A number of private conversations and conference sessions at recent industry events focused on the latest developments, and I’ve been especially interested in the credit, collections and debt implications for equipment finance.
